Billing & Insurance


We never want costs to stand in the way of quality treatment, which is why we are dedicated to providing our patients with care that is both effective and affordable. Our office accepts payments by cash, checks, and Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover credit cards.

For those who are unable to pay off their balances right away, we offer the option of setting up a payment plan with our billing department. Uninsured patients have the option of a prompt pay discount if they pay at the time of service. If you have any questions about payments, payment plans, or anything else, please ask us! We will thoroughly explain your choices and work hard to accommodate you.


Our office is committed to helping you maximize your insurance benefits. Because insurance policies vary, we can only estimate your coverage in good faith but cannot guarantee coverage due to the complexities of insurance contracts.

When you first visit our office, bring your current insurance card with you. If you change insurance companies or join another employer’s plan, please be sure to let us know. If an insurance referral is necessary, please bring the completed form with you to your appointment.

Currently, our practice accepts the following insurances:

  • Blue Cross Blue Shield
  • Cigna
  • Community First Medicaid
  • Humana ChoiceCare
  • Medicare (Traditional)
  • Medicare Advantage*
  • Molina Medicaid
  • Private Healthcare Systems (Multiplan)
  • United Healthcare

*Effective January 1, 2012: Humana Choice PPO and Humana Gold Choice PFFS will be the only Medicare Advantage plans we accept.

Hill Country Medical Associates does not currently participate in HMO plans. We do not participate in all the plans of the insurers listed above. Please verify that we participate with your specific plan by contacting your employer or agent.

Please remember that your insurance is a contract between you and your insurance company. You are personally responsible for any bill or portion not paid by your insurance company. All co-payments and deductibles are due at the time of service.
